I've always had a passion for global health and international development. I really saw BCG as an opportunity to pursue some of these passions.

I wanted to live and work in the developing world. I spent a year in Mumbai working on a range of projects, some in healthcare. Then there was the earthquake in Haiti. I was loaned from BCG to Save the Children from April 2010 to the end of October.

I was based partially in D.C. and partially in Port-au-Prince. I came to do a five-year strategy and an annual plan and I completed those. There was a real sense of closure and adding value, although it's not like the problems are solved.

I was aware that opportunities like this existed at BCG -- what surpassed my expectations is that I've been able to pursue all of those opportunities and been supported. I hope to continue to pursue healthcare and social impact work. It really has been an amazing experience.
