Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Tim Pawlenty all want Republicans to support a hike in the minimum wage. But $10.10 may go too far for their liking.
Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty thinks Republicans should support increases in the minimum wage from 'time to time,' as long as they're 'reasonable'.
"Republicans should support reasonable increases to the minimum wage," he told MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
"For all the Republicans who come on and talk about, you know, 'We're for the blue-collar worker, we're for the working person,' there are some basic things that we should be for," he added.
But is he for Democrats' current proposal to raise the rate to $10.10? No.
"The proposal being presented by the Senate majority goes too far and too fast," he told Politico in an email. "I wish they would work with Republicans to find a reasonable compromise on this issue."
