There are more than 180,000 gaming service workers in the United States, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Most of them are dealers, croupiers and slot attendants.

For dealers, earnings depend heavily on where they work and the size of bets. The most experienced and valued dealers get to work the high minimum-bet tables where tips from big winners can run into the hundreds, even thousands of dollars.

Over the next decade, the number of gaming dealer jobs is expected to increase by 13%, according to the BLS.
