IRS workers gathered in New York City this week to protest the government spending cuts that will result in at least five furlough days without pay.
Edward Filistowicz, an IRS auditor and president of the Massachusetts branch of the National Treasury Employees Union, said he has had to use his accounting skills to budget and save more as he braces for the furloughs beginning May 24.
