100 years of Lionel's model trains

Lionel's GG1, which refers to the train's wheel configuration, was a mainstay in the company's model train portfolio for over 50 years. The actual GG1 locomotive was built from 1934 to 1943 and was intended to haul heavy passenger trains, according to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.
