This offshore driller operates in the waters off Louisiana and its acquisition of interests in the Gulf of Mexico from Hilcorp Energy in 2012 nearly doubled EPL’s proven reserves. The company expanded its production this year, extracting more than 23,000 barrels a day, 75% of that oil, in the second quarter—a 91% increase over the same period last year.
