Daniel Gerds: Hesitant to make weekend trips
College students like Daniel Gerds are also feeling the pinch of higher gas prices.
I'm a young college student in Texas who is taking classes and working full-time this summer.
When my friends and I get a chance, we plan on traveling around the state and sight-seeing.
Most of us work full-time and drive moderately fuel-efficient cars, but with gas prices on the rise we have become hesitant to make 200, 300, 400, even 500-mile weekend trips.
It looks as if there will be little or no vacation for us this summer.
