Clark Gable's multi-million dollar Duesenberg

Bidders were willing to pay over $6 million for this Hollywood car, but it still wasn't enough.

A leaky roof

On their first date, Gable picked Lombard up in the convertible Duesenberg. It was raining and Lombard complained that the cloth top leaked "like toilet paper, " Gooding said. Gable, mortified, promptly took the car to coachbuilder, Bohman & Schwartz to fix the leaky roof. At the same time, he asked for a number of other changes to better fit the car to his leading man image.
